Polk County Public Libraries is transforming the top floor of the Saluda Library into a Cat Café from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 22.
Cat cafés have been popular in Asia for years but are just now making their way to the United States, opening recently in Greenville, S.C. and Charlotte.
Guests at the Cat Café at the Saluda Library will enjoy tea, lemonade and cookies while mingling with adoptable cats from the Foothills Humane Society. Georgiana’s Java Joint will be generously serving coffee during the event at a “pay what you wish” rate. All proceeds will benefit the Foothills Humane Society.
Please note that the first half of the program from 3 to 4 p.m. is for adults only, ages 18 and older so as to not tire out the kitties too quickly. All ages are welcome to join in the fun from 4 to 5 p.m.
