Polk County Public Health is offering drive-thru COVID-19 testing and flu shots from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Polk County High School at 1681 NC 108 in Columbus.
No appointment is needed and you can get either the COVID-19 test or the flu shot or both.
However, if you are symptomatic or have been identified as a close contact to someone who has COVID-19, you will be screened out of getting the flu shot for the time being.
The COVID-19 tests are free. Anyone getting a flu shot should bring a copy of their insurance card so their insurance can be billed. Flu shots are $25 each if you are paying out-of-pocket.
For symptomatic patients, the COVID-19 test kits test for COVID-19, Influenza A and Influenza B.
If you have questions, call the Polk County COVID-19 message line at (828) 722-5086. For non-medical information, call 2-1-1. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1.
