Duke Energy will soon begin work on upgrades to its existing transmission lines in the Tryon area.
The project is slated to begin this month and be completed sometime during the summer. Workers will begin efforts on Canebrake Road and extend to a point near 328 Screven Road.
The project will cross Highway 108 near Harmon Field Road during construction.
“These changes have been brought to the attention of our county government by Duke Energy and we want to put the information out to keep the citizens informed,” said County Manager Marche Pittman.
The upgraded transmission line will be supported by steel monopoles and/or lattice towers that are considered more reliable than the current infrastructure.
