Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast on Wednesday, March 20 will focus on cover cropping and its soil benefits

The monthly Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast on Wednesday, March 20 will focus on cover cropping and how it benefits soil health on the farm.

The free breakfast meeting starts at 7 a.m. at the Green Creek Community Center at 25 Shields Dr. in Tryon and will feature Anthony LeBude, the Nursery Crops Extension Specialist for N.C. State University.

Breakfast attendees are encouraged to promote sustainability by bringing their own coffee mugs and another for someone else attending.

Sponsored by the Polk County Farm Bureau, the Friends of Agriculture Breakfasts are hosted by Polk County’s Office of Agricultural Economic Development for local farmers, gardeners and food enthusiasts. These free events are held the third Wednesday of every month between September and May at the Green Creek Community Center and feature a delicious local food breakfast and an educational speaker on areas of interest to our agricultural community. Learn more at PolkCountyFarms.org.
