Governor’s office clarifies current options for on-premise dining

The Office of Governor Roy Cooper has clarified whether patrons are allowed to consume takeout and delivery items on restaurant premises while adhering to the provisions of the governor’s current executive order.

A member of Cooper’s Western Regional Office provided the following guidance for restaurant patrons:

“Restaurants are ONLY allowed to serve food for take-out/delivery. Patrons are allowed to eat said take-out food on premises given that there are no more than 10 people in the outdoor seating area and that everyone maintain a six-foot spacing, proper social distancing guidelines apply.

“The restaurant is NOT allowed to wait on them, it is for on-site consumption ONLY.”
