Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday, Jan. 19 closed to public due to COVID-19, other options available for citizen participation

The next meeting of the Polk County Board of Commissioners will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. There will be a Public Hearing for new road names and a Regular meeting will follow. The Commissioners and staff will meet in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice Womack Building at 40 Courthouse St. in Columbus.

The meeting will be closed to the public due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The following options available for public participation:

  • Watch the meeting live on Polk County Local Government’s Facebook’s page.
  • Call in and listen live by calling 1-800-753-1965 and using the access code 8946129.
  • If you would like to submit a citizen comment for the public hearing or regular meeting, please send your written comment to Clerk to the Board Angé High at ahigh@polknc.org by 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19. You also may call the Clerk with your comment by 3 p.m. that day by calling (828) 894-3301, Ext. 221. Any comments received after the deadline will be submitted at the next meeting.  Please clearly mark in the subject line PC BOC CITIZEN COMMENT (Public Hearing or Regular Meeting) and in the body of the message include your NAME, ADDRESS and CONTACT INFORMATION with the context of your comment.
