First Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast of the season on Sept. 18 will highlight local 4-H

The first Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast of the season will be on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and will feature Helen Clark with Polk County 4-H sharing about programs 4-H offers and what they do in Polk County.

The free breakfast meeting is from 7 to 8 a.m. at the Green Creek Community Center at 25 Shields Dr. in Tryon.

Breakfast attendees are encouraged to promote sustainability by bringing their own reusable plates and non-disposable coffee mugs.

Volunteers are always welcome and a few are needed the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 17 before the breakfast to help with set-up and on Wednesday morning to help with cooking. If you would like to volunteer, please email Polk Agricultural Economic Development Director Dawn Jordan at djordan@polknc.org.

Sponsored by the Polk County Farm Bureau, the Friends of Agriculture Breakfasts are hosted by Polk County’s Office of Agricultural Economic Development for local farmers, gardeners and food enthusiasts.

These free events are held from 7 to 8 a.m. the third Wednesday of every month between September and May at the Green Creek Community Center and feature a delicious local food breakfast and an educational speaker on areas of interest to the agricultural community. Learn more at polkcountyfarms.org.
