The Polk County Toy Run benefiting children in need will be held at the Saluda Fire & Rescue Dept. at 199 Walnut St. on Saturday, Nov. 24, rain or shine.
A barbecue lunch will be provided for each contribution of a new $10 toy or the donation of $10. All donations will benefit underprivileged children in Polk County.
Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. that day.
There also will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and an appearance by Santa Claus.
T-shirts for the event will be for sale. Short-sleeve shirts will be $15 each, long-sleeve shirts will be $20 each and sweatshirts will be $25 each.
Weather permitting, the Bike Parade will start at 2 p.m. and will travel through downtown Saluda, Tryon, Columbus and Landrum, ending at the Polk County Courthouse in Columbus.
The Toy Run is supported by Polk County Sheriff’s Dept., Saluda Fire & Rescue Dept., Thermal Belt Outreach, Polk County Dept. of Social Services, Steps to HOPE, area motorcyclists, Christian Motorcyclists Association, concerned citizens and Saluda, Tryon and Columbus businesses.
