Polk library to offer free screenings of Oscar-nominated films

Polk County residents can watch this year’s Oscar-nominated films as soon as they are released on DVD.

Throughout March, Polk County Public Libraries’ central branch in Columbus will play a movie every Friday at 1 p.m. in the Community Room. The films will be projected on a large screen and popcorn and drinks will be served at no charge.

The schedule for the series includes:

March 2 – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Nominated for Best Picture, Best Lead Actress, and Best Supporting Actor. Rated R

March 9 – Darkest Hour. Nominated for Best Picture and Best Lead Actor. Rated PG-13

March 16 – The Shape of Water. Nominated for Best Picture, Best Lead Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Director. Rated R

March 23 – Call Me By Your Name. Nominated for Best Picture and Best Lead Actor. Rated R
