A new self-help program designed to help lower the cost of building a new home is now accepting applications from Polk County residents.
The Housing Assistance Corporation is a non-profit organization committed to providing safe and affordable housing for those with limited income. Housing Assistance is based in Hendersonville and focuses on Henderson County and surrounding areas.
The group’s self-help program brings together groups of 4-6 qualifiyng families to work together to build homes under the guidance of a contractor. No construction experience is required to take part in the program.
Housing Assistance also offers a number of financing benefits to help make home ownership possible.
