Survey offers Polk residents chance to share thoughts on future of area transportation

Polk County residents have an opportunity to help shape a comprehensive transportation plan for the area by responding to a survey arriving in their mailboxes this week.

Polk County Local Government, along with all local town governments, the Isothermal Rural Planning Organization and the North Carolina Department of Transportation, are working on the transportation plan, which will cover all aspects of travel in the area.

The survey asks residents for their thoughts on the current state of roads and travel in the county as well as their input on topics such as public transit, greenways, bicycle lanes and other related subjects.

The survey includes a prepaid return envelope. Any resident who doesn’t receive a survey and would like to offer input can do so via an online survey. That is available at
