The Western North Carolina Area Equine Educational Event will be held March 1 from noon until 5 p.m. at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.
Registration, a trade show and lunch will be offered from noon until 1 p.m. The schedule for the afternoon includes:
1:10-2 p.m., Body Condition Score and Basics of Horse Nutrition; Presenter: Alaina Cross, N.C.S.U. Equine Extension Associate
2-2:50 p.m., Equine Grazing Management; Presenter: Dr. Paul Siciliano, N.C.S.U.
3-3:30 p.m., Record Keeping and First Aid; Presenter: Sarah Rhymer, Animal Science Teacher, Brevard High School
3:30- 4 p.m., Transporting your Horse: N.C. Laws and Regulations; Presenter: N.C. State Highway Patrol
4-4:45 p.m., Soil Sampling, Hay Evaluation and Weed Identification; Presenters: Jeff Bradley, Noah Henson and Addison Bradley, N.C. Cooperative Extension Livestock Agents
