As the weather gets colder and the calendar turns toward December, this is a time that many people begin to think about giving back to the community.
Polk County residents have plenty of chances to practice “it is better to give, than to receive.”
Take, for instance, some neighbors in Lake Adger who recently got together and held a Friendsgiving event. Along with sharing a meal, and community bonding, they collected Thanksgiving foods to be donated to the local food bank to help others in Polk County have a complete Thanksgiving Day meal. The group also collected monetary donations.
There are plenty of ways you can help and we will showcase some in the coming weeks.
