The Polk County Board of Commissioners asked all citizens to take a moment, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, to remember those who were affected by the attacks on our country on that day in 2001.
The Polk County Board of Commissioners recently declared that September be recognized as Military Suicide Prevention Month and September 11 as Military Suicide Day as a way to bring attention to a growing national issue.
The Polk County Emergency Preparedness Fair is set for 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center and will be an event that can prepare residents for emergencies and disasters.
