The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, along with Columbus Baptist Church, is hosting a back-to-school event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, in the Open-Air Gym at Harmon Field.
The event includes a school supply giveaway (while supplies last), food and drinks, a bouncy house for kids to play in and a DJ playing music. There will also be a demonstration by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Unit and there will be kids’ identification and fingerprinting available.
Donations for this event can still be made for this event. Needed items include: composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, pencils, paper, pens, erasers, glue sticks, folders, colored pencils, pencil boxes/pouches, and scissors. All items must be new and monetary donations are also being accepted. The drop-off location is the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which is located at 164 Government Complex Drive in Columbus.
