The Grinch is leaving Who-ville for a special local celebration.
The creature whose heart grew three sizes after Christmas came without presents and trees and ribbons is headed to Saluda.
He will be a part of Saluda Hometown Christmas on Friday, Dec. 10. The free community event, which is set to run from 6 to 8 p.m., takes place in downtown Saluda.
The main event will occur in McCreery Park with music and entertainment provided by local talent on the Ella Grace Mintz Stage. Also, in the park will be laser lights, a campfire for roasting s’mores, a toy donation box, and a Christmas carol sing-along. A visit from Santa is expected.
And wandering around the event will be The Grinch, who will be helped along by members of the Polk County Public Libraries staff. Make sure you find the green Grinch, who once wore a sour grinchy face but is now all smiles, and have a photo snapped with him.
