The Polk County Board of Commissioners recently adopted the budget for 2022-2023. The board unanimously approved the budget during its June 20 meeting.
The budget by the County Manager does not include a tax increase for the operations of the County. The three fire department increases recommended by the Fire and Rescue Advisory Board (FRAC), were approved, but one was lowered to the maximum allowed increase of .02.
The proposed budget was presented to the Commissioners on May 9 and the Board held a work session on May 16. A final budget work session was held on June 6 and was followed by a public hearing where citizen comments on the proposed budget were heard.
