Board of Commissioners to meet Tuesday, Sept. 7

The upcoming Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting will have a special feel as the month of September has many opportunities for residents to support veterans and other patriotic activities.

Commissioners will discuss and vote on several proclamations, such as Military Suicide Awareness Month, Constitution Week, a Remembrance of September 11, and others, that will give residents a chance to remember those we’ve lost and reflect on our privileges as Americans.

The Polk County Board of Commissioners will hold their regular meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice (40 Courthouse Street, Columbus).

The meeting is open for public attendance. To call in and listen, call 1-800-753-1965 and use the access code 8946129. The meeting is also live-streamed on the Polk County Local Government Facebook page.
