Polk County has lifted the Burn Ban in conjunction with the North Carolina Fire Service, as of 8 a.m. on Wednesday April 2.

Residents are advised to prioritize safety while conducting burns. Burning anything other than natural vegetation is prohibited and will be cited.

If conditions worsen, the burn ban may be reinstated and violators will be subject to a $250 fine.
