UPDATE: The burn ban that has been in effect in Polk County will be lifted as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22. This is in conjunction with the state lifting theirs at the same time.
Please continue to be safe.
PREVIOUS POST: Polk County Emergency Management Director and Fire Marshal Bobby Arledge said on Monday, Nov. 20, that the burn ban for Polk County is still in effect, even as rain is possible this week.
“We will re-evaluate after the rain and see where we are at,” Arledge said. “Depending on how much rain we get, on top of the windy conditions that can dry everything back out, the ban may stay in effect. We will keep everyone updated.”
