Myron Yoder, one of the Polk County Board of Commissioners, recently represented Polk County at an important event in Raleigh.
Commissioner Yoder was at the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) County Assembly Day along with other elected officials across the state.
According to a press release, “County Assembly Day is an annual event that provides a platform for county commissioners and county officials to hear from state leaders and discuss the issues affecting their communities. During their meetings, commissioners, clerks, and officials from counties across the state discussed with legislators how their counties plan to use or have used their direct allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for long-term investments.”
Commissioner Yoder was thanked by his fellow commissioners at a recent meeting and Yoder said in the meeting that it was a very informative event. He was able to meet with State Representative Jake Johnson, who represents Polk County, while in Raleigh to discuss Western North Carolina.
