Commissioners approve April as Isothermal Community College Month

At a recent Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board approved a resolution that April would be Isothermal Community College Month in Polk County.

The college, which is one of more than 1,300 community and technical colleges in the U.S., has been a staple of Rutherford and Polk counties for many years. The college has a continuing education branch in Polk County where a variety of programs and classes are offered.

Isothermal Community College provides educational opportunities at costs and locations accessible to all who are qualified, community and technical colleges have greatly enhanced the opportunity for every ambitious student, young or old, to enter a postsecondary school program.

The Commissioners also declared that Saturday, April 20, would be “Paint The Community Isothermal Blue” Day. The college will host a community celebration, that will include fun events for community members of all ages, on the Spindale Campus.
