Emergency Preparedness Fair planned for Sept. 23

An event dedicated to educating and empowering our community to be better prepared in times of emergency or disaster will soon happen locally.

The Polk County Emergency Preparedness Fair is set for 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (25 International Blvd. in Mill Spring).

Highlights of the event will be

  • Demonstrations by Local Agencies
  • Informational Booths
  • Q&A Sessions
  • Family-Friendly Activities

 This event will help prepare Polk County residents for emergencies and disasters, which can make all the difference for you and your loved ones. This fair brings together a variety of agencies from Polk County and the surrounding area to provide you with practical information and resources to enhance your emergency preparedness.

Key participants in this event are: Polk County Emergency Management, local Fire and Sheriff’s Offices, Emergency Medical Services, Safe Kids Rutherford/Polk and Community Resilience Organizations.

Admission is free and is open to all ages.
