Farmers Market season is gearing up in Polk County

Polk County Farms is ready to welcome its farmers back to its farmers markets for the 2022 Summer Market Season.

Polk County Farms is currently accepting vendor applications that can be filled out online on its website (www.polkcountyfarms.org) or you may pick up a copy at any of our Winter Markets. Thanks to the Polk County Community Foundation’s generosity all vendor fees have been waived for this season.

This year, the Saluda Tailgate Market will run every Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The market will be located on West Main Street in Saluda and will run from May 6 through October 28.

The Columbus Farmers Market will be held every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon. This market will be located at 40 Columbus St. in Columbus and will run from May 7 to October 29.

These wonderful farmers markets feature an abundance of locally grown foods. Shopping at the farmers markets provides an opportunity for small farmers to provide the freshest produce, eggs, and meat products. A slew of locally handmade crafts will also be available during the season.

In an effort to make this community centerpiece even more accessible to Polk County residents Polk County Farms has the ability to accept SNAP benefits. In fact, at the farmers markets, your SNAP benefits are doubled!

Polk County Farms looks forward to seeing you at the market!
