The spring, summer, and fall season for the Polk County Farmers Markets is coming to an end with many vendors – new and old – taking part throughout the warm months.

Saturday, October 21, is the last fall farmers market of the season and it will happen in Columbus. A special treat for this farmers market is that author Carol Wuff will be at the Columbus Farmers Market to sell and sign copies of her spooky children’s book, titled “I’m Not Getting In Your Brew.”

“It was great to see everyone out and enjoying all the events planned, Tomato Daze, Mocktails, Gettin’ Messy n Coolin’ off with Kids, Make your own Bug Spray, Community Health Fair, and Soap Carving,” Polk County Farms wrote in a recent email newsletter. “Huge shout out to all the vendors that participated and supported these community engagement experiences. Thank you, it was great to see you ALL.”

Now, our local farmers markets begin the transition to its winter markets. The market in Saluda will be located at The Saluda Center, while the Columbus market will be at Iron Key Brewing.

Winter markets, which will alternate sites weekly starting in Columbus, will begin on Saturday, November 4. Time is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
