The FEMA Disaster Relief Center (DRC) in Polk County will soon be relocating to a new permanent location at the Isothermal Community College (ICC) Polk Campus.
The new DRC will be located at: 1255 West Mills Street, Columbus, NC 28722. This is next to the Polk County Library in Columbus.
The DRC will continue to provide services at the Polk County Recreation Complex (Parking Lot), located at 235 Wolverine Trail, Mill Spring, NC 28756, until Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.
Due to winter conditions, operations at the tented location will permanently cease after this date.
The new location will open at the ICC Polk Campus on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, with initial operating hours from 1 to 6 p.m.
Regular Hours of Operation (effective Dec. 17, 2024) will be Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
