Flags to be flown at half-mast to honor shooting victims

To honor the victims of the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, Governor Roy Cooper ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff beginning immediately through sunset on May 28.

Flags throughout Polk County have been lowered to half-staff and county officials are encouraging individuals, businesses, and schools to fly flags at half-staff for the duration of time indicated.
