The Friends of Ag Breakfast is kicking off its season at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20 at the Green Creek Community Center.

This historic breakfast has been held for the past 12 years featuring speakers from many local farms and other agricultural experts in their field. It is the place to meet your neighbors and connect with community support agencies that are here to help us all maintain our beautiful, rural agricultural county. 

This week’s speaker will be Ben Barham, who is the Emergency Program Specialist from the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Science, Emergency Services Division.  Mr. Barham will give an update on Tropical Storm Helene’s impact, response and recovery efforts for the farms and agricultural community of Polk County.

This event is free and open to the public. Local farmers, growers, and other food producers provide fresh ingredients for a delicious complimentary country breakfast. To be sustainable, please bring your coffee mug, plate and flatware. This year’s sponsors are Mountain Brook Vineyards, Polk County Farm Bureau and AgSouth Farm Credit.

Friends of Agriculture Breakfast will be held on the third Wednesday of every month through May ’25.
