Friends of Agriculture breakfast set for April 16

This month’s Friends of Agriculture breakfast is scheduled for April 16. The time is 7 to 8 a.m.

The event will be held at the Green Creek Community Center, 25 Shields Drive, Tryon (located in the Green Creek Community.)

A complimentary breakfast is served and is open to the public. It is a place to meet your neighbors and connect with community support agencies that are here to help us all maintain our beautiful, rural agricultural community.

In order to be more sustainable, attendees are encouraged to bring their own coffee mug, plate and utensils.

This ongoing historic event has been happening for 15 years and features speakers from local farms and other agricultural experts in their field.

This month’s speaker is Bobby Arledge, Polk County’s Emergency Management Director & Fire Marshall. Arledge will be giving a wildfire update and a talk on emergency preparedness, followed by a Q&A session.

Friends of Agriculture breakfast is held the 3rd Wednesday of every month September through May.
