This month’s Friends of Agriculture breakfast is scheduled for March 19. The time is 7 to 8 a.m.

The event will be held at the Green Creek Community Center, 25 Shields Drive, Tryon (located in the Green Creek Community.)

A complimentary breakfast is served and is open to the public. It is a place to meet your neighbors and connect with community support agencies that are here to help us all maintain our beautiful, rural agricultural community.

In order to be more sustainable, attendees are encouraged to bring their own coffee mug, plate and utensils.

This ongoing historic event has been happening for 15 years and features speakers from local farms and other agricultural experts in their field.

This month’s speaker is Brandon Highsmith, Chief Property Appraiser & Operations Supervisor for Polk County. Last month Highsmith began his presentation, titled The Nuts & Bolts of Present Use Value & the Revaluation Process, and he will finish it at this meeting.

Friends of Agriculture breakfast is held the 3rd Wednesday of every month September through May.
