The North Carolina Cooperative Extension is an outreach program that is found in all of North Carolina’s counties, and Polk County’s program has been helping citizens for decades.
The local Cooperative Extension conducts programming in: Agriculture, Family/Consumer Sciences, and 4-H.
Since 1914 The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service has been trying to improve the quality of life for the people of Polk County. Here are some ways that the local Cooperative Extension helps citizens:
- answering your questions about lawns and gardens
- helping farmers make their farms more profitable
- offering health and nutrition workshops
- or teaching young people woodworking skills
Cooperative Extension is open to everyone, and strives to provide solutions by empowering you with research-based, unbiased information. If you ever have an issue that arises within our areas of focus, please do not hesitate to call our office. Many of our clients are amazed what we can do, and most help is even free of charge!
