If a Facebook friend or a family member asks you for some ideas of fun things to do in Polk County, one of the first – and best – websites to send them to is run by the Polk County Travel and Tourism department.
The website – www.firstpeaknc.com – is a place to find a massive amount of information about Columbus, Tryon, and the surrounding areas.
There’s a calendar page that showcases all of the events happening, from equestrian to music to wine events. There’s a section that includes area attractions and group activities.
There’s so much information for visitors, but it’s also a great place for Polk County residents to keep up with the goings-on within the community.
