We are in the middle of National Public Safety Telecommunicators week and want to take some time to thank Polk County’s dispatchers!

This year, National Public Safety Telecommunicators week is celebrated from Monday, April 9 to Saturday, April 15.

This week is a time to honor our dispatchers as they are the first “first responders.”  They are the eyes and ears of emergency services. Dispatchers not only provide our responders with an idea of what they are responding to, they also provide lifesaving instructions for callers who can do CPR, deliver a baby, or control bleeding, just to name a few.
