North Carolina Emergency Management Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, a FEMA-funded program administered by the state of North Carolina to reduce future damages from disasters.
HMGP provides funding for projects such as property elevation, structural reinforcement, and buyouts of damaged properties to make communities more resilient. Eligible projects must conform to the state’s Hazard Mitigation Plan, address a repetitive hazard, and be cost-effective, among other criteria.
