How to report price gouging

During times of crisis, like the one our community is currently dealing with in the aftermath of Helene, some individuals try to take advantage of others through gouging prices of items.

North Carolina’s price gouging law is usually triggered when the state suffers or is threatened by a natural disaster such as a hurricane, tornado, winter storm or flooding.

Residents can report price gouging by calling 1-877-5-NO-SCAM or by filing a complaint https://ncdoj.gov/pricegouging.
