More lane closures on I-26 have been announced for this week that could affect Polk County drivers traveling through Henderson and Buncombe counties.

Westbound lanes will be closed on I-26, from Exit 40 to I-40, on Tuesday, July 12. This lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. The detour will be I-26 at Exit 40, follow NC 280 (Airport Rd.) East to US 25 North (Hendersonville Rd.) to access I-40.

 There will be left lane closures on the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-26 each night beginning Sunday, July 10 through Thursday, July 14 from mile marker 45 to mile marker 43. These closures will also last from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The start time will depend on traffic volumes and will be adjusted accordingly and plans may be altered depending weather conditions.
