Learn about Polk County’s food community at Farmer’s Market

There’s always something new to see or taste at the Polk County farmer’s markets. This week, there will be chance to learn, too.

Kelly Gay

Soil & Water Conservation District Administrator Kelly Gay will be at both markets sharing her work with the community. Her presentation will, she said, “help people make connections between agriculture products and their producer. That’s the most concise way I can explain it. I am having fun creating this lesson and I am really looking forward to seeing how it is received by young and old. I am also trying to celebrate the vendors and the work they do to get products to market.”

Please stop by her tent on Friday, August 5, or Saturday, August 6, to learn all about Polk County’s food community.

The Saluda Tailgate Market, located on West Main Street, runs on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Columbus Farmer’s Market is on Saturday from 8 am to noon at 40 Columbus St. This market also features locally made artisan crafts.
