Employees from Polk County’s License Plate Agency were recently recognized at the Board of Commissioners meeting for an award they received at the state level.

The License Plate Agency was honored by the Department of Transportation for its excellent performance, contributions, and goals achieved.

The License Plate Agency, which is located at 51 Walker Street in Columbus, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

This group of workers is responsible for processing vehicle titles and completing renewals and registrations. They also issue license plates, collect vehicle property tax, issue handicap placards, collect insurance penalties, and perform dealer and notary work.
