The Mediation Center is looking for volunteers who want to assist in mediation.
The Mediation Center is a nonprofit organization serving Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania and Polk counties. The Mediation Center has been around since 1984 and mediation services are free. Mediation improves relationships, decreases future violence, and decrease community members’ use of police and courts to resolve interpersonal problems.
The Center is looking for people who want to join its team of volunteer community mediators. As a mediator you will help people in the community move through difficult and stressful conflict by having productive conversations that put relationships first.
Mediators work together in pairs to mediate interpersonal community conflict, including conflicts between neighbors, family members, and friends. Mediation is confidential, voluntary, and non-judgmental.
Free training available for accepted applicants. Trainings will be in the evenings and weekends in early 2024.
