Mountain True regional director to speak at Friends of Agriculture Breakfast

Mountain True’s Southern Regional Director, Nancy Diaz, will be the guest speaker at the next Friends of Agriculture Breakfast.

This historic breakfast has been held for the past 12 years featuring speakers from many local farms and other agricultural experts in their field. It is the place to meet your neighbors and connect with community support agencies that are here to help us all maintain our beautiful, rural agricultural county.

The next Friends of Agriculture Breakfast happens at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19th, at  Green Creek Community Center (25 Shields Drive, Tryon).

This event is free and open to the public. Local farmers, growers, and other food producers provide fresh ingredients for a delicious complimentary country breakfast that will include: local sausage, eggs, grits, jams and jellies, strawberries, and locally roasted coffee.

According to the Mountain True website, Diaz was born and raised in Hendersonville and brings a wealth of skills, experience, knowledge, and perspective to MountainTrue from her time serving the community, most recently with Blue Ridge Community Health Services and Pisgah Legal Services. She graduated from Wake Forest University and has a graduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. As MountainTrue’s Southern Regional Director, Nancy manages environmental advocacy efforts in Transylvania, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford and Cleveland counties, supporting the Green and Broad Riverkeeper Programs. She is passionate about making the region a great place to live for everyone, eliminating barriers to outdoor recreation, and bringing communities together through environmental action.
