Open house, ribbon cutting happens at new Board of Elections office

On Monday, February 5, an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of the new Polk County Board of Elections office.

The new address is 231 Ward Street in Columbus.

The new building for the Board of Elections is known to many residents as the old Red Cross Building. It was recently donated to Steps to Hope, which then donated the building to the county. Learn more about this by clicking here.

The 6,000-square foot space has been renovated. Half of the space will be used for offices and voting areas, while the other half is a warehouse where officials can securely store voting machines and election equipment.
