Earlier this week a group of volunteers were sworn in as Polk County Animal Cruelty Investigators.
These individuals will work under the direction of the Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control Department following up reports of animal cruelty within the county and working with the Animal Control Officer to resolve issues.
These volunteers finished the required six-hour training offered by the North Carolina Humane Federation and will serve a one-year term.
