Polk County Landfill and Transfer Station available for drop off after your spring cleaning

As flowers begin to bloom, some Polk County residents will begin preparations for spring cleaning.

If you want to rid your home of unused items or your yard of unsightly debris, the Polk County Landfill and Transfer Station is a spot to do so. The landfill is located just north of Mill Spring on Highway 9.

There are costs to drop items off at the landfill. The price is $10 per load under 300 pounds or $55 per ton. The landfill charges $30 per ton of brush, but loads under 300 pounds is free. The landfill charges $20 per ton for clean fill, which is concrete, asphalt, and other similar items.

There is also an annual permit of $80, but this does not cover Construction and Debris materials.

Please note, only cash and checks are accepted, no credit or debit cards.
