A Polk County landfill operator whose work did not involve contact with the public has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The landfill operator was confined to working with a piece of equipment and had no interaction with the public.

The employee is self-isolating in accordance with public health recommendations.

Additionally, Polk County Local Government is recommending that all employees use extra precautions to protect themselves and the public.
