Polk County Parks & Recreation baseball registration is now open through Jan. 29.

To register, call the Parks & Recreation department at (828) 894-8199 or stop by Stearns Gym at to fill out a paper form. Online registration will not be offered.

With the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when Polk County Local Government offices will be closed, Parks & Recreation staff will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. to register athletes.

This year, once there are enough players to fill one whole team, all others will be put on a waitlist until there are enough to fill another team. This does not mean a child will not be able to play; however, Parks & Rec is trying to make sure there are not too many players on one team.

Once registration ends, Parks & Rec will have an evaluation and draft to select teams and then coaches will be in contact about practices and games.
