There will be a little extra spice at this week’s farmers markets in Columbus and Saluda.
Polk County Public Libraries will be on hand at each event, offering a “Spice It Up” seasoning packet and recipe ideas from its booth.
The Saluda Tailgate takes place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24, in the overflow parking lot on West Main Street. The Columbus Market is set for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 25, at Courthouse Street.
Polk County Libraries’ Program Coordinator, Amelia Hill, will also be at the farmers markets with free giveaways and kids’ activities to continue the celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
Also, Polk County Libraries will be accepting canned goods to support the Feed the Foothills Food Drive, which is collecting items for Outreach, in Columbus, N.C., and Operation Hope, in Landrum, S.C. Please bring your donations to either market to support the community.
