Red Cross to open resource center in Tryon for flood, landslide victims on May 25 and 26

The American Red Cross will open a resource center Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26 at Tryon Elementary School for those local residents affected by the recent flooding and mudslides.

The resource center will be open each of those days from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Tryon Elementary School Gymnasium. The school is located at 100 School Place in Tryon.

Red Cross Recovery caseworkers, staff members from the North Carolina Department of Insurance and N.C. Emergency Management and other community partners will be providing information, referrals, signup for debris cleanup assistance and recovery planning.

Cleaning supplies, tarps, bottled water, hot meals, medication replacement and other support will also be available.
