Revaluation appeal deadline set for March 31

The deadline to appeal the revaluation of your property has been set for March 31, 2025.

Revaluation notices were recently mailed to Polk County residents. Revaluation is a process required by the state to determine the most accurate and equitable tax rates as property values change over time. North Carolina mandates revaluations at least every eight years, though counties can choose to revalue more often to keep tax assessments fair and reflective of the current market.

To initiate the appeal process for the Revaluation, residents must mail your notice, as instructed on the back of the form, to the Polk County Tax Office by March 31, 2025.

Once your notice is received, the Polk County Tax Office will call you to schedule an appointment.

Alternatively, residents can call the Tax office directly at 828-894-8500 ext 254 to set up your appointment.
