Salvation Army offers emergency food assistance for local residents

Polk County residents who need emergency food assistance can now receive help from the Salvation Army.

A food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at Green Creek Missionary Baptist Church (2382 Coxe Road in Tryon) to serve residents living in the Polk County area.

Requirements include a picture ID of the person applying for assistance and food boxes will be available every 30 days.
