The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will soon offer a self-defense class for women.

The Rape Aggression Defense (“R.A.D.”) System is a national program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques taught for women only.

The first class will be held on Thursday, May 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Each additional class will be held on Thursdays during May.

This class, which is for females only, is free and is open to women age 14 and up. Participants who are 18-years-old or younger, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
